To our amazing members, subscribers, and presenters. The Board of Management wishes you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas, and a healthy, happy, new year!
From the Chair I’d like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of our land and pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. Merry safe and healthy Christmas,
As we reach the end of another year and reflect on all the challenges we have faced, Christmas is a great time to appreciate and be grateful for the things that we have and everything that we have accomplished.
I would like to begin by thanking our members, volunteers, presenters, and other board members; you are all such a valued, essential part of our radio station, and am very grateful for your time, dedication, passion, and skills; I am honored and privileged to work with such a talented, capable, and fun-loving bunch of people.
To our listening community, our members, presenters, friends, and followers, on behalf of the Board, I would like to wish you all your family and friends the very best for the festive season and we look forward to a fantastic 2023.
Board Members Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on 25th September at The British Hotel (a WOWfm sponsor), during which, we held elections for the open Board positions. Our newly elected Board members are:
Although not a board member Mike Marriott has taken on the role of assisting with all things technical and doing a considerable amount of production work. Chris Marciniak is our Community Development Officer providing lots of support to our local not-for-profit organisations with airtime to promote their businesses. Board meetings are held on the Third Tuesday of the month, 6.30 pm at Bower Cottages, Garden Cottage, Semaphore Park. The board also expresses its thanks and appreciation to Rob Leo who held the position of chair for the past year. Rob with his legal nous and proficient writing skills played a significant role in the station being successful in renewing our broadcast licence for the next five years.
Special thanks to Peter Darby our previous Fundraising Director, Fred Klein, and Chris Marciniak filling the position of ordinary board member for the last year. We appreciate and value the time and contribution you all made to both the board and our local community.

Semaphore Street Fair Outside Broadcast
The Semaphore Street Fair is an annual event organised by the Semaphore Mainstreet Association. Held annually on the last Sunday in November, the 2022 event was a huge success with WOWfm doing an outside broadcast. Thanks to our presenters and members who showed off their camping skills in assembling our shelter for the day.
Not even the brief shower could dampen the atmosphere, with thousands of people dropping by to say hi and then making their way down the yellow brick road to the market stalls.
Christmas lunch at the Alberton hotel
On the 10th of December, we had our Christmas lunch at the Alberton hotel, a great day with a fantastic turnout. Thanks to our terrific members who donated prizes for our raffle, which raised $750.
Sharing a meal, enjoying others’ company, and having a laugh is the best way to celebrate the festive season.
